Lyrics
(Verse 1: Dawn)
Face her, she’s nature,
And the place we’re meant to be,
Softly spoken, yet I’m awoken,
To a gentle light through curtain seams.
Blackbird he chuckles ‘morning’,
From his place along the row,
A fleeting greeting, then off he’s flitting,
To some place I long to know.
(Chorus)
In a lake, tree,
Or passing bee,
I’ve found a peace,
Like I’ve never known,
These things don’t lie,
To you or I,
This is real life,
You cannot manufacture it.
(Verse 2: Noon)
The sun it crowns the noon-day,
Whilst dappled shadows cast to shade and shroud,
Our busy bustle, the lives we tussle,
They distract us from the beauties all around.
Small things, silent, burrow,
Whilst the geese they laud in gaggle loud,
Some tree creeping and others sleeping,
All rhythms here, some humble, and others proud.
(Verse 3: Dusk)
In the evening the lights retreating,
Songs of the day now fade and echo dim,
But natures teeming, if you just lean-in,
A constant humming fixed in time when change abounds.
Murmuring on the lakeside,
Streaks of orange on a wash of blue to black,
A stippled canvas in waves of motion,
The starlings dance to wish the moon a welcome back.
(Chorus)
In a lake, tree,
Or passing bee,
I’ve found a peace,
Like I’ve never known,
These things don’t lie,
To you or I,
This is real life,
You cannot manufacture it.
